>battlestar galactica, now THAT was a good TV show
Lets face it. Every genre film of the past and present will be remade, re-imagined or rebooted. Its a simple and sometimes cheap method to reintroduce a classic franchise to a new generation and remakes are the most rampant in the horror genre. Now don’t get me wrong, there have been some stellar remakes that have gone on to become classics of their own. Fright Night I thought was fun, Dawn of the Dead I loved and John Carpenter’s The Thing will always be a horror classic. What makes remakes like those standout, is the fact that they had something outstanding to offer and helped to elevate the genre.

I will try to convey something to you now, in a rather paradoxical manner: I will try to tell you, with words, to not use words. In school, and basically from birth, they teach you to express yourself through words, and formulate every thought into a word. Words are horrible little prisons for your mind, sometimes intentionally so. What is by definition "rape" and what is "sex" is redefined on a yearly basis to reprogram your brain, but even with normal words the definitions are clear, ranked in order of syllables, and while there are tastes ranging from "fragrance" to "stench", that's just an illusion of freedom. I encourage you to think in a different system: Music.
Ultimately actions are themselves the optimal language, but you can punctuate your actions as a rhythm. It doesn't have to be a stale rhythm - don't adhere to 4/4 or 3/8, but be decisive in your actions. Few people are in control of their moods, but notice how well your emotional state responds to scales? If you can think freely in terms of scales, then suddenly you can freely control your own emotions instead of letting them control you. You also have instruments to consider: When you decide on a purpose, then it becomes the backing of your symphony, like a bass. Then, on top of that, you perform the melody, which is HOW you do things, and is only a variation on the backing harmonies. ...and speaking of melodies, remember that a rest is also part of a melody. Sometimes you don't have to do anything, and just let the music progress. The important parts are the backing chord changes - that you get those right.

It's amazing how much the Matrix has us. 30 000 games on the Steam platform alone. Thousands on games coming out each year, all begging for our attention and money, only to ultimately leave us with just some small amount of satisfaction a week or two later. We are paying to waste our lives away, nonstop. We're being told that we're world saving heroes, as we sit in our computer chairs rotting away day after day. Some of us complain about loot boxes, as if that would be the main problem. Gaming is an addiction in itself. 99% of it is nothing but a drug, and that little 1% we learn, isn't worth abandoning life for. We tell ourself that it will build confidence, but confidence isn't a virtue. All that happens is that we become self-deluded, thinking we matter, when we don't. If anything we need to realize what worthless scums we are, especially when we do nothing but play computer games all day. ...and this goes twice for watching anime or movies. The real world is crumbling all around us, and we've stopped caring, because we're busy caring about Equestria or some other fantasy world, "that's in such a dire need of heroic help". I've been banned from most platforms. ...and that's a good thing. The less you fit in in a fantasy forum, the more you can adapt to the real world. When you get banned, it's like the drug dealers are forcing you out the door, saying "You're not good enough to do our drugs.". At some point my ISP threatened to ban me from the internet. In the end I just got another ISP. ...but maybe that's what we all need: To get banned from the internet. There's so much that we've neglected, that we need to do in the real world, that we just don't want to do, because we've got this excuse that "there's entertainment to watch" or "games to play".
>>4882 We're still paying with time, though.
With E3 almost over, I've concluded that gaming is over. Gaming is dead. I hate everything about what gaming has become, and there's just nothing that can save it. "Be a hero. Live a power fantasy. Fight the darkness. Maybe get a girl." <-- This is every plotline now. Gone are the days when there was something original going on, that wasn't "build your own console out of cardboard" Nintendo bullshit. Games have nothing to bring to the table anymore, because they're created by big corps who wants to play it safe and stroke your ego instead of challenging you. Every fucking game is just one big long wank of little boy penis. It is bullshit in pastel colors from start to finish. Fuck gaming. I mean that with a passion, from the heart of a former games dev and gamer. Gaming ruins lives. Even the words "gaming" and "gamer" is so cringy, like it's an identity to feel proud over. You're all utter retards. Fuck you. Exterminatus on all of you. Go die.
>>577 >Notice how none of these games has come from the big corps? I've noticed that back in 2008, and stopped playing AAA games altogether save the witcher, and some others. I probably play 1 big corp game for every 100 old or indie games I play - probably an even smaller ratio. Stick to good games, and ignore the games with heavy marketing every normalfag talks about.
